VG PlayRoom began an incubator of creativity where word, image, sound and movement artists and public could experiment with new ideas just for the fun of it. Our first project was devising a fund and awareness-raising of the construction of the Eagle Nest Labyrinth at Kwomais Point Park in Surrey, BC called InVision. In 2015 we opened a Word Studio to devise mixed-arts projects, events and training with a focus on performance in unusual locales and the verbal arts like the Surrey cultural grant funded Word-Arts Live, Project WoW (arts-building without walls) and Listening Bowl – rambles and art in nature connecting self, place and community.
Located on the SW Coast of British Columbia, Canada we play in the Metro-Vancouver area, but value global inspiration and relationship. Virginia Gillespie is the artistic director and host.
